Best Standing Desk For Gaming

Introduction

Gaming desks have changed dramatically over the years. They’re no longer just flat surfaces with simple stands. Desks these days come with height adjustments, built-in power strips, under-desk cable trays, and even RGB lighting. With all that, it’s easy to end up with something overhyped or overpriced. And if you’re shopping for a standing desk for gaming, things can get even more confusing. After all, these products can cost a great deal of money, so if you end up buying a dud, it can leave a significant dent in your wallet.

We’ve looked at what real users are saying, read the reviews, and tested a few of these firsthand. Here are five desks that strike the right balance between form and function in 2025.

What to Look For in A Standing Desk for Gaming

A good gaming desk isn’t just about looks.

The first thing to think about is space. If you’re a gamer, you’ll usually need plenty of it. If you use dual monitors, go for something at least 140 centimeters wide.

Additionally, you’ll need a stable and durable desk. You’ll be using it for hours every day, for years on end. As such, you’ll need your desk to be reliably built. Cable management can also be a lifesaver for gamers. If you’ve got a full setup, you’ll have tons of wires to tuck away. Having the means to do that can make your setup look a lot more inviting.

When it comes to whether or not you need a standing desk for gaming, the answer is a bit more complicated. For the isolated event of gaming competitively, you don’t need to be standing. We’ve said as much in our detailed article on the benefits of using a standing desk. However, if you use your desk for hours every day, you’ll probably want to stand up every now and again. The benefits that standing for even a little bit every day offer are immense. So if you’re someone who is often found at their desk, it’s worth considering.

If you’re going for a standing desk, you’ll need to pay attention to the motors and stability. No one likes a sagging desk, and you will want the motors to lift and lower the desk smoothly. Luckily, all of the desks in this article are known to be reliable and durable, so you can go for any one of these and sleep soundly.

Secretlab Magnus Pro

If you want a clean, well-built setup that feels premium from the start, the MAGNUS Pro is it. The build quality is top-tier, and you get an amazing and desk-width rear compartment for your wires. Couple this with a couple of optional cable management guiders and you’ve got a desk that’s supremely easy to keep clean of clutter. What really helps on this front is the fact that the motor is built in to the legs, so you won’t have any motor wires dangling off of the desk. Inside the cable management tray is a power plug, so even the most inexperienced builder can make a beautiful, seemingly wireless setup with this desk.

In terms of controls, this is a simple desk. The built-in consoles features three preset heights, and the desk can go up to 125cm with a max capacity of 120kg.

What’s cool is that you can very easily personalize the MAGNUS Pro. The top of the desk can be swapped out for pretty much any color or style (including team-specific styles) via Secretlab’s MAGPAD system, so you’re bound to find something that suits you. Additionally, Secretlab sells a ton of first-party accessories that flawlessly attach to the desk via their magnet system.

Aside from all of this, the MAGNUS Pro is built really well and has extremely smooth and reliable motors.

If you’re looking for a premium standing desk that you can heavily and very easily customize, the Secretlab MAGNUS Pro is a great option.

Blacklyte Atlas Lite

The Atlas Lite is available in multiple different finishes and sizes, which makes it a versatile pickup. It has four preset height options and uses a smooth dual-motor system to raise and lift the desk.

The E7 Pro isn’t specifically made for gaming. Yet it handles gaming setups better than most gaming desks. For starters, you won’t need to worry about weight. The desk holds up to 160kg, which easily covers full gaming or work setups, even if you have tons of stuff on your desk.

The E7 Pro’s base unit is quite basic, but there are tons of additions that you can purchase for this desk. These include monitor arms, storage solutions, power strips, laptop stands, and so on.

The E7 Pro is powered by reliable and smooth motors and can be bought in variety of finishes, meaning that you can quite easily fit this into any setup.

It’s perhaps not as flashy as some other products in this list, but if you’re looking for a straightforward standing desk that isn’t necessarily focused on the world of gaming, this is a good one to consider.

Corsair Platform:4 Elevate

Corsair added its own twist to the standing desk concept with Platform:4 Elevate. Instead of making you start from zero, it gives you a strong, adjustable base that you can build on as your setup grows. You can begin with the essentials and add more gear over time. Basically, this desk is ideal for those who are always updating and changing their setup but don’t want to replace their desk or other furniture in order to follow along with those changes.

It’s available in different sizes and finishes, and with the amount of add-ons you can purchase, you can really make this desk your own unique thing. You can add pegboards, add side trays, and so on.

The lift system works well, though it doesn’t go as low as some other desks. The frame is stable, and the controls are reliable. The size is modest, but the layout is smart and you get a cable management tray and monitor arm in the base package. So, you can fit a full setup without things feeling cramped.

The Platform:4 will cost a pretty penny (especially if you go for a bunch of add-ons) but it’s well worth the money if you’re looking for something that you can truly make your own.

  • Rail system is interesting, but ‘locks you in’ to specific add-ons

Flexispot Comhar

Sometimes, you don’t need a huge desk with lots of add-ons. For those who want simplicity and just a bit of storage space, the Flexispot Comhar is a great option. It comes with a drawer (which is a rarity in standing desks) and also has USB charge ports next to the built-in console.

Simplicity is key here, and this nifty little desk comes in a variety of sizes and finishes so that you can ensure that it fits your setup seamlessly. The Comhar only has a single motor, so it’s not really meant for extremely heavy-duty usage, but if you like the concept of this desk and you’ve got a more heavyweight setup, you can always go for the Comhar Pro. That one does have dual motors and has a maximum capacity of 80kg as opposed to the regular Comhar’s 40kg.

The Comhar is a great choice for gamers who also work at their desk and don’t want to invest in additional storage space to store their laptop, pens, notebooks, and what not.

  • Easy to assemble

Cons

  • Cable management options are limited

Conclusion

A standing desk can absolutely increase your quality of life if you spend a lot of time sitting at your desk. The health benefits far exceed the physical aspect and even go into the mental realm, as studies indicate that people who stand occasionally during their (work) day feel more relaxed and energized.

Knowing this, it’s easy to see how a standing desk can be a benefit for gamers. Being able to stand up in between gaming sessions can give you more longevity in the game and allow you to play at your peak for longer, for example. But even if we leave all of that aside, it’s undeniable that standing desks are a net benefit for your overall health. So if you spend a lot of time at your desk and you’re looking at making an upgrade, we wholeheartedly recommend you to consider investing in a standing desk setup if you can afford to do so.
