2016 was a slower year in the Red Deer real estate market, but it wasn’t as bad as everyone predicted. If average priced dipped they only dipped a little, and sales numbers only decrease 8% over 2015.
With lower numbers in 2016, what can we expect in 2017?
There are indicators pointing toward a positive 2017 real estate market in Red Deer and Central Alberta. We saw negative sales numbers (compared to 2015) for the first 8 months of 2016, but the last 4 showed equal to or positive results. Over that last little while I’ve had news of friends going back to the work they haven’t had in two years, and on the radio there are ads by major oilfield companies looking for full time employees… both bolster consumer confidence.
However, even if the market improves and more homes sell, they won’t be flying off the market. So, to compete and earn the most money on your sale, hire a Realtor® that does more.
Make sure your Realtor goes beyond just ‘listing’ your home on the MLS. Make sure they have the knowledge and expertise to position your home correctly (every home is different), and make sure they have a strategic and extensive marketing plan..
