Participants will learn about the innovative steel products used in meeting the city’s critical demand for affordable, desirable urban apartments and how they are influencing the way in which urban apartments can be built quickly and affordably.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Summarize the factors influencing the choice of sustainable structural systems for building high-rise multi-family housing.
  2. Assess the advantages and disadvantages different structural systems offer in accommodating the increasing urban demand for affordable apartments.
  3. Describe how choosing a steel structure can impact apartment design to create not only affordable but desirable living environments.
  4. Identify the ways in which the flexibility of steel construction enables it to quickly and efficiently adapt to changing design trends.
