In this session, you will learn from the leading architect and builder of cohousing globally. Learning Objectives:

  1. Identify criteria that defines cohousing and distinguishes it from other types of multifamily residential projects and community-enhanced design.
  2. Discover how participatory design can be implemented in residential project’s design and project management process to empower future’s residents’ agency and promote socially equitable communities.
  3. Adapt cohousing design elements like prosocial site design and high-functioning common house to their residential project planning and design to improve social interactions and physical-wellbeing of the residents.
  4. Develop a better understanding of how a cohousing project is organized, designed, and developed by the cooperation of future residents and architects to promote social and environmental sustainability.
