While One Dalton succeeds the Hancock Tower by 45 years, it shares many of the same ambitions as its older cousin in its restraint, sculptural clarity, and abstraction.

One of the dominant American architects of major landmarks in this country and Europe—most notably the East Building of the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. and the glass pyramid at the Louvre in Paris—has died at the age of 102.
